DOB: 1980
HOMETOWN: Missouri
RESIDENCE: #15 - The Sunshine
PB: Chris Pratt
HAIR: Brown

HEIGHT: 6'2"
In a galaxy far far away but not that long ago, Peter Quill grew up with his mom and grandpa as a more or less normal kid. His mother had a flair for the dramatic and told him his father was actually some alien being of pure light but other than that, it was a pretty normal existence - until she died. Unable to deal with the finality of seeing his mother dead, Peter ran away from the hospital and right into the tractor beam of a bunch of Ravagers - interstellar junkers. The only things he brought with him from Earth were the clothes on his back and two prized possessions: a tape deck and an unopened present from his mother.

Fast forward 26 years and Peter is a bonafide Ravager himself, taking jobs to lift, borrow and steal things all over the galaxy. His latest job brings him to the abandoned planet Morag, where all he has to do is snatch a little silver orb and turn it over to The Broker to get paid. Easy as pie, right? Not so much, not when it seems everyone else in the galaxy is after the same orb. Peter manages to escape goons sent by Ronan the Accuser and land on Xandar with every intention of selling his orb to the highest bidder. Predictably, it doesn’t go as planned. Nobody wants it now that Ronan is involved and since Peter tried to cut the Ravagers out of the deal, everyone wants him dead. After a madcap chase through the streets of Xandar, Peter ends up getting picked up by the Nova Corps along with three of his pursuers - the assassin, Gamora, career criminal Rocket and...well, nobody knows what Groot is.

While in prison, Gamora tells the group she’s not actually working for Ronan any longer and that she has a buyer for the orb who is willing to pay a hell of a lot more for it than Peter’s. While it takes some convincing, the four of them start working together to break out of the prison, along with Drax, a prisoner who has an axe to grind with Ronan. They take the orb to an out of the way planet to sell it to The Collector, who tells them it’s actually one of a handful of Infinity Stones and has the power to destroy worlds. Drax, wanting to cash in his debts, arranges for Ronan himself to come to the planet and Ronan ends up in possession of the stone - and is hellbent on destroying Xandar.

While none of them are heroes, all of them come around to the idea that Ronan must be stopped and formulate a plan to break into his starship and capture the stone before he can use it on Xandar. There are some kinks in the plan, of course, but eventually Peter and his friends break past the security on the ship and face down Ronan himself, eventually retrieving the stone. Most people can’t touch the stone without having it destroy them utterly but Peter manages to hang on longer than most, taking the hands of Gamora, Rocket and Drax to help channel and contain that power long enough to lock it away.

Saving a planet has some nice perks and in gratitude, the Nova Corps graciously erases their criminal records, leaving them free to leave. So now Peter’s got a new ship, a new crew and everyone is referring to him as Star-Lord and to them as the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Volume 2, shit gets weirder. After a few months of riding high on the success of being Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter and the crew take on a job protecting precious energy resources on behalf of The Sovereign. The exchange? Nebula, Gamora's sister, will be transferred to them as a prisoner. While it's a pain in the ass to keep the batteries safe from the interstellar Jaws that wants to eat them, the Guardians succeed and are getting out with a sweet deal until Rocket decides he wants to pocket some of the goddamn batteries. Of course.

The Sovereign sends their entire fleet after the Guardians and they're only saved by a mysterious God-like being named Ego who can somehow one-shot a whole fleet of automated ships. The Guardians go to Ego's planet where they meet Mantis, an empath, and learn that Ego is Peter's Celestial father, explaining how he'd been able to hold an Infinity Stone in his bare hand and his sheer fortitude over the years. While Peter is enamored of actually having a father to talk to, the rest are skeptical, and when Nebula crash lands on Ego's planet, a fight with Gamora reveals that Ego has been fathering children all over the galaxy and murdering them when they're not able to help him take over the universe with his seedlings.

Telling Peter goes about as well as can be expected and he lashes out, taking his father's side over his friends. Ego tries to sway Peter to his side by pointing out he'd killed Peter's mother as a distraction and that they can take over the universe together - Peter fights, and hard, against the man who murdered his mother. The rest of the Guardians manage to plant a bomb deep within the core of Ego's planet, destroying his brain and ability to regenerate - but not without help from Yondu and his Ravagers.

Peter realizes that all along the family he'd wanted, he'd had in Yondu, and the family he has now is better than the biological connection he'd tried to seek out with Ego. He's still unsettled and shit still isn't back to normal but he's going to take it one day at a time.

Peter has gone into a few of the doors here and there but mostly he likes to scout them so he can run a job and come back to the Nexus without getting shot at. It works out, for the most part, and he's got a nice little collection of antiques to offload the next time he heads back to Xandar; they fall all over themselves for that mid 19th century Earth shit.

Peter likes to get a drink before heading out to go scouting and the Smoking Room is both the only bar and the best bar. The drinks are good, they're cheap and the bartender is one of the best he's ever seen.

Fiona's good at mixing drinks, true, but she's also nice to look at and fun to talk to. It's pretty natural to flirt with her whenever he stops and and that's been a hell of a lot more often lately.

"So, Fi...you think you can find some vodka back there for me and do some magic with it? I've got big plans today, need a little liquid courage."
